My apologies to all those frustrated by reading my instructions verbatim. I should have used the caution that your mileage may very.

Obviously line numbers need to be taken with a grain of salt as they can change from version to version.

That said, it's my bad - in editing footer.php, where I said line number 183 (Step 6), it should have been 103 - one-zero-three, in the Stylesheets section. My eyes must be going in my old age.

Try that and see if that doesn't clear things up!

I followed your steps and i also don't have my social icons anymore. I double-triple checked the files and directory to make sure they are matching especially on functions.php page and i still get nothing.

fbargain - it sounds like your functions.php change (step 6) does not precisely match the name or location of your new font-awesome install from step 3&4.

The font name in step 6 should duplicate the font name uploaded in step 4 font-awesome-4.7.0 or similar.

Same goes for the location. I'd check those two first.

To review,

Step 1 adds the IMDB hyperlink to the footer.

Step 2 establishes the background color for the disk that pops up on mouseover.

Step 3 and 4 locate and install the most recent version of font-awesome, not necessarily 4.7.0.

Step 5 deletes the superceded font-awesome.

Step 6 is critical. It tells your server where to find font-awesome in your directory structure.

If the names and locations in Steps 3/4 and 6 don't match precisely, it will seem as if your icons have disappeared.

Let me know if that helps.

I have done the manipulation (bradmson) to add the imdb icon. But as soon as i add the new font and remove the old version, the icons disappear. Can you help me because I can't. Thank you

Step 2: style.css - Added (after line 1059:

#socialIcons #link-imdb:after {background-color: #f3ce00;}

Step 3. Downloaded font-awesome 4.7.0. from http://fontawesome.io/

Step 4. Uploaded to wordpress site at ~/wp-content/themes/vysual/

Step 5. Deleted old 4.3.0 font-awesome folder.

Step 6. functions.php - modified line 183 to:

wp_enqueue_style( 'fonticons', get_template_directory_uri() . '/font-awesome-4.7.0/css/font-awesome.min.css');

Jumping in on this one - I want the IMDB icon as well. Unfortunately the font-awesome version that loads with the Vysual template is 4.3, it wasn't added to font awesome until 4.7. Still trying to sort this one out - I'll post as I work out my solution.

The above code will display the icon with the link you provide in the "href" attribute (i.e. replace 'your-imdb-url' with the link you want to use).

That's a great suggestion! I'll definitely add this to the feature list for the next update, but here's how you can hard-code it right now...

1. Open footer.php and locate the <!--SOCIAL ICONS--> section.
2. Add the following inside the "socialIcons" div...

<a target="_blank" id="link-imdb" data-title="IMDB" href="your-imdb-url"><i class="fa fa-imdb"></i></a>

3. Replace "your-imdb-url" with the URL to your profile page.

Let me know if that works okay.

Firstly thanks again for the great looking theme. My site is almost there now but it's really missing this one thing... An IMDB icon like there is for vimeo and instagram etc... As this is primarily made for promoting films I'm sure most people would really like this option. Is it at possible for this to become a feature?
