Unfortunately I can't determine what the issue is. As far as I can tell this is a Facebook-related thing as it's a Facebook script doing all the work in grabbing the content/images. The theme isn't dictating to Facebook what images to use as it's all being done automatically by Facebook.

Sorry I can't be more help with this issue.

Regarding the share feature, I can provide instructions for removing it if you want. As far as implementing a different system, that would require a customization request here: http://themolitor.com/custom

That would be great. I did try it with yours but ours seems temperamental.

With our site it worked fine with the pasta bake:

However it didn't work with the Chicken Korma:

Oh and is there any way of changing the 'share' programme you've used? When you go back to the site after posting on Facebook it there's always a pop up showing, which is a bit annoying.
