Ok, it took me some time tonight but I figured it out.
For some reason, I was missing a few files in the images/ directory, and this was messing up prettyphoto. After putting back those images, it worked perfectly.

Ok, I have just deactivated the menu and all other scripts/customization I have possibly done (except for some css maybe but nothing that could prevent that prettyphoto thingy from working. I have even got rid of google analytics stuff, so I should be clear.

Scripts.js and all javascript is back to default, and so is prettyphoto.css.

Looking at your site, it looks like you have some additional scripts/customizations for the menu. Unfortunately I can't troubleshoot customizations. Please double-check your edits. If you continue to have trouble, take note of your edits and apply the default template files to confirm if it is indeed a theme error or having to do with your customizations.

Yes! I can switch back to the default scripts.js file right now since you're online, so that you can look at it (since the blog is not public, I prefer having my homepage set as I want it...).

So right now, the default "scripts.js" file is up. I just downloaded it from http://themes.themolitor.com/wpzoom/wp-content/themes/wpzoom/scripts/script.js, so I assume it's the default one, plus it works on your demo website...

Sounds like there's definitely a problem with the scripts not running properly. When you reset scripts.js, are you using the default file?

I'm having trouble with the prettyphoto feature. I modded the website quite a bit (custom CSS + I played with the navigation a bit) but I have just reset the scripts.js as in the default (except for the "make images not zoomed in by default" as well as "hide thumbnails by default" tutorials in the portfolio pages), so the problem shouldn't be there.

The 3 specific problems I've got are following:
- most importantly, in an article, when I'm clicking on a gallery item, left and right keyboard arrows reload the same image instead of moving to previous/next (in fact, the left arrow doesn't even work at all), and there is no actual left/right arrow overlay on the image to show that there is indeed a previous/next image,
- less importantly, when I try to set the prettyphoto theme to "light rounded" or "dark rounded" or any of the presets, it doesn't change at all. I have not touched prettyphoto.css, it is still the same as in the demo website.
- least importantly yet, the moving thumbnails on mouseover thingy doesn't work at all, no matter what.

I tried resetting scripts.js completely, with no good result. What should I do? I'm using safari 5 on a mac, but I don't think it matters since it works on your website on the same browser/machine...
