Hi Chris,

I can't afford to customize the theme, but I do understand.

Would another workaround be for me to NOT remove the css code that triggers it, but then go back to any offending howlers and reduce each letter 300%?

I'm not aware of an easy way to achieve that. I'm sure there's a solution out there, but it would require some research and testing to achieve. Hi Chris,

I did just that yesterday because of the epigraph. but then manually added it back in with a fontsize330% on individual letters for the opening paragraph and then the first letter on each subsequent page -- I was wondering if there was a way to suppress it on individual pages only, and not remove it entirely.

Hi there,

You can remove the letter effect by opening style.css and removing or commenting out the following on lines 173-178...

.entry p:first-child:first-letter {
   font-size:330%;
   float: left;
   margin:10px 10px 0 0;
}

Hi Chris,

I think autopaginate screwed everything up as fat as multiple capital letters: deleting it and your theme and re-adding your theme worked.

But having an epigraph on my recent post meant that I needed to remove the initial block capital from the script per your instructions and add it back in manually by using that fontsize 300% thingy (I'm an html ultranoob)I found in a similar post in this sub-forum.

Forget the page# question - it was the autopaginate plugin messing about with my posts.

I will add the site-wide css code for now. I would still like to know
(1) why I am getting more than one capital letter per page, and
(2) how to disable it in those specific situations where my first letter is an epigraph, as I said, but to make the first letter of the first body paragraph have the large font size

Hi I have the block letter occurring twice on some pages sometimes, or it might occur if I begin the post with an epigraph, which I wouldn't want obviously, so how would I remove it in specific instances, but leave it for the beginning of other pages?

Also -- somewhat off topic, if I have 5, say, sections to a post, is there a way to autopaginate for each section?

I found the css and have been tweaking it, but the letter doesn't line up. Is there a way to do this in the addable css area rather than in a child theme or in the main css file. Does anyone have the styles?
