Hi there,

Try this... Change the main opacity setting to .2 and use this custom CSS instead...

body.single #topPanel {background: rgba(0,0,0,.6);}

Let me know if that works better.

Best,

Hi,

I added the Custom CSS and it did work, thank you, but only for the Main Home Page, not the Menu Pages (Movies, Music, About, News, Contact - example - http://beautifulliepictures.com/?cat=3). Is there a way to have the lighter (.20) Opacity on those pages as well and still keep it darker (.6) on the video pages - example http://beautifulliepictures.com/?p=91 ? Please let me know. Thank you.

Hi there,

The lightbox is what you see when you click on an image in the gallery, for example. The screen goes dark and the image you clicked appears in larger view. More info: http://www.no-margin-for-errors.com/projects/prettyphoto-jquery-lightbox-clone/ -- this is the opacity I was referring to, which isn't what you're describing.

The background behind the videos at the top of the page is not a lightbox. It's just simply a background effect. You can adjust the opacity of the background effect on the Customize page.

Currently the opacity setting applies to all pages. To customize the opacity for the home page only, try adding the following to your Custom CSS box on the Customize page...

body.home #topPanel {background: rgba(0,0,0,.2);}

You can then leave the main opacity setting to .6 for other pages.

Let me know if that helps.

Best,

Chris

Hi,

I'm new to this so maybe I'm not understanding what the "Lightbox" actually is or where it is on the pages. I thought the Lightbox darkened the background behind the videos only.

But here's what happens -

When I have the Background Opacity from the Dashboard set at .60 the Menu Main Pages and Video pages (Lightbox) are dark.

When I change the Background Opacity from the Dashboard to .20 the Menu Main Pages and the Video Pages both lighten up.

What I want is for the Menu Main Pages to have an Opacity of .20 and for the Video pages to have an Opacity of .60 Is there any way to do this?

Also, when you said you saw an opacity setting of .6 for your backgrounds, but the lightbox is still .8 - Where did you find the lightbox setting?

Thank you.

Hi there,

I see you have an opacity setting of .6 for your backgrounds, but the lightbox is still .8. Changing the background opacity does not affect the opacity of the lightbox system.

Maybe I'm not understanding the issue you're having? Could you clarify what the problem is?

Best,

Chris

Yes, when I change the background opacity for my default BG images to a lower number it also changes the lightbox feature.

Hi there,

I'm not sure I understand the issue. Does the opacity changes you made affect the lightbox too? Can you provide a link to your site?

Hi,

Thank you. I was having the problem because I lightened the Background Opacity for my Default Background images. With that in mind, is there anyway to do different Opacity settings for the Default BG image and Category/Page BG images while still keeping the Lightbox darker opacity on the Post Custom Backgrounds?

Also - Is there a way to change the font color on Category & Page Descriptions? Thank you!

Hi there,

The lightbox feature automatically loads image links for .jpg, .png and .gif images. Are you wanting to use the lightbox for something else?

Full prettyPhoto documentation (with examples) is available here: http://www.no-margin-for-errors.com/projects/prettyphoto-jquery-lightbox-clone/

Hi,

I'm new to Wordpress, so sorry if this is a lame question, but I want to use the PrettyPhoto lightbox feature and Documentaion says - You can make images show up with the light box by adding rel=”prettyPhoto” to the links - but I have no idea what "links" it means. Do I add rel=”prettyPhoto” to the video embed code or the custom background URL or somewhere else? Thanks.
