I tried pasting your suggestion between lines 34 and 35, but all I managed to do was have the text "<?php the_excerpt(); ?>" show up on each of my blogs. I'm clearly not doing something right.

Hi,

you can exclude the first X about of posts from you the loop, but that would require some customization you can fill a form out for that here http://www.themolitor.com/customization-quote-request/

to add some excerpt on you blog posts you can add this between lines 34 and 35 in the index.php file <?php the_excerpt(); ?>

I'm a fairly rank noob to the blogosphere, so please forgive me if this is a general wp question rather than a template-specific one. I tried searching the forum, but couldn't come up with the answer.

How do I keep the posts containing the images for the slider from showing up on my blog page?

Also, is there any way to show more text than just the title of each entry on the main blog page (i.e. the first couple sentences or maybe even the whole thing)?
