Hi there,

Sorry if that's annoying, but the wait time is a forum system setting to prevent spam bots from flooding the forum. Even though a license is required to register, some bots still get in from time to time. When I did not have this system setting in place I would occasionally get 1000+ threads posted and have to manually delete each one. Very time consuming. :-/

Best,

Christopher

Done for now (thanks for considering the provided suggestions)

PS: On a related note: you should consider to reduce the amount of wait time required in between "publishings" of new posts and or replies

After all logged in users in this forum are very likely paying customers (since adding a license at the time of subscription is mandatory not random users stopping by to leave spamming links. You could maybe enforce the current annoyingly long wait time for users who posted something like 10 consecutive replies (or new posts) in a very short amount of time (like 10 min?).

We're all come here to ask a question and/or replying to threads with previous ones. It would be great to be able to do so quickly without having to wait in order to be able to send a followup or post a new question.

Thanks again :)

Hi Chris, thanks for the clarification.

I respectfully disagree with the idea of being a bad practice and it should ultimately be a decision left to the customers who might instead need the flexibility to have an auto rotating gallery using it to tell a short story about the film, the production, add a pictorial behind the scene, the work behind making special effects and so on).

What you might refer are some galleries that make for an awful UX due to having been made with poor UI and functionality (lack of ability to pause on a slide on hover/tap or to stop the entire slideshow and allow viewers to brows it manually if so they wish, but those flaws do not make the concept of an auto starting slideshow gallery a bad practice.

In fact I would strongly recommend you to add such feature because as is, while I still like the theme to a degree, I feel it's less worth recommending due to the way it functions and the fact that one does need to go through a couple hoops to get some pages customized to show some content as it seems to rely heavily on an automated way to pull content published as posts on a page template (like in the case of the videos page or cast and crew, and the gallery is rather static at this time (with simple fades triggered by manually browsing through it).

It'd make the template far less average by adding a gallery with options to auto start, customize pause delay and, to make it even more flexible, add a handful of transition effects (fade-in/out like you have as well as slide in, shape based wipes, combo fade/side and fade wipes, to mention a few) which could be probably added using GSAP's API.

Last but not least, I'd also add a per-page ability to override the default audio track as with films a soundtrack might fit the content shown on a page, but on others it would be desirable to have another song playing instead.

That said, I understand the current limitation and hope that my 2¢ above will be of some help for possible improvements in future version releases of this and/or additional themes.

Thanks again

Hi there,

The only automatic slideshow feature that exists is the header images slideshow option. As shown in the demo site, the gallery page does not automatically rotate images. For galleries like this, it is bad practice to auto-rotate the images.

Best,

Had the same issue with the Gallery... the trouble seems to be that when linking a gallery this way, there will be no automatic slideshow of the images (annoying not being able to have an slideshow for a gallery, is there a way to o that in Vysual?) I also tried using a Video+Reviews template, but that too did not work. Only option right now has been to add multiple header images in customizer and use that to create a slideshow.

Hi there,

Create a page and assign the "Gallery" page template. Then you simply upload images using the "add media" button. Once the images finished uploading, your done. Click publish and you're live!

Please let me know if that helps.

Best,

Hi Chistopher again,

I keep having troubles with the gallery. I read the document but still get confused.

"When using the "Gallery" page template, the theme will automatically grab any images you have uploaded/attached to the page and display them full screen automatically for you."
Question: how do I grab the images to the page? how do I upload/attach the pics? Should I make a post beforehand? If yes, In with format should be set the post?

"You DO NOT need to insert any images or gallery shortcodes into the page content area. Simply upload them to the post and you're done."

¿Which post?

Thank you

Víctor
