where do I find the insert gallery option?

I know how to change the permalinks, but then I got a error 500.
Contacted my host and it was a htaccess problem.
Finaly it works. Sorry about the inconvenience.

You can change your permalink settings on the "Permalinks" page of your WordPress dashboard. If that causes problems, you'll need to review that article on the codex page and possibly contact your hosting provider.

So what you're saying is that I have to change the permalink to make it work. Oh, running Mac and it it seems hard to make that work. Anyone know what to do.

Maaaaan, got no hair left :) Can't get portfolio to work, tried the permalink change, but get a message that my htaccess file is not writable, can't even find it on my server. Supposed to change the permisson on the index.php file, but to what??
When making a porfolio site (category), like on the demo, have you posted every image in a new post.
Want it to be like the demo, but only get one column with text to the right instead of 3 or more columns with description on the image, like Janos_te described on page one in this thread.

You don't have to "insert into post" for each image. I recommend using the "insert gallery" option when you have multiple images for a single post.

Couple things I noticed:

1) try making the first letter in the name "portfolio" a capital letter. Might not make a difference, but sometimes it's little things like that.

2) You're using a different language which may interfere with some of the function calls in WordPress.

And something else. When I click on an image inside this post (assigned in portfolio category) comes out the lightbox effect with arrows to all of the post's pictures as it should be in first place. Maybe this is important to understand my issue.

I've tried it but with no luck. Just a rehub in case I am doing something wrong.

I create a new post and just uploading many photographs via the "Add an image" option. Then I click on "insert into post" for each one of them. As a category I assign "portfolio" and click on the option "publish". Is this right? Do I miss something?

Try changing your permalink structure by navigating to "settings" > "permalinks" and change it to "Month and Name".

I show the step 7 in the help file, but didn't manage to have the same effect as the demo site. What I am doing wrong?
I made a post, insert to it 5 pics and choose "Portfolio" as a category. But I can't see the 5 images with the lightbox effect, only as a simple post (you now, one image below the other, with a scrolling bar in the right). What I am doing wrong? :(

Just found the reason for the problem now. I used a permalink that had a different name from the category name. After I renamed it to "portfolio" it worked fine. :-)

Well, that's what I've done. I don't have problem creating a portfolio.

It's the look and feel that is different from the demo site. My gallery is just one column of pictures, with post information to the right. I just want the pictures in a three column layout and post titles right under the pictures.
