Hi there,

Unfortunately I do not provide support for using/creating child themes. A child theme is considered a separate theme/entity as it is being custom built by the user and not the default setup of the original theme. In other words, a child theme is a customization. If there are issues, troubleshooting would involve checking and making sure your customizations/code is written and executed properly, which is not something covered under my support agreement (see item #1 and #2 below in the "PLEASE READ" section).

I'd tried to create a child theme for MISC, but, when it loaded, the site was missing most of it's parts.

I copied styles.css and made the necessary changes. I copied functions.php and made it empty. I also copied index.php b/c when I didn't I couldn't load the theme b/c WP said the theme was broken and missing a template file.

I'm using WP 4.2.2.

What am I supposed to copy to make the child theme work properly?
