Hi, Chris,

I was in the wrong file (css file for another theme) before, but now am definitely in the correct one. I have line 23, which says: #mesh {position: fixed; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; z-index: -1; background: url(images/bg.png) repeat;}

The last part, "opacity: .8," does not appear. If it did, I assume I would change it to .6 or so, to make it less opaque. But it is nowhere to be seen! What to do?

Are you sure your editing the right theme? there isnt a file called style-classic.css in Novelist at all

Hi again!

I opened my style.css file in Dreamweaver (also looked at it in Notepad), but none of the lines seem to match. I've looked all through it for the #mesh code you include above, as well as that for controlling the number of columns and changing fonts, as mentioned in other posts, but cannot find the lines.

Any suggestions? The theme works fine, but it seems like the css files are different from what you describe. I also opened the style-classic.css file, but it doesn't have these lines either.

Yes, if mesh overlay is that gray color that appears over the background image, that's what I'm talking about. I'll follow your suggestion.

@weihaas yes, its located in the scripts folder

@Juliana are you talking about the mesh overlay? if so you need to modify the css for it on line 23 in the style.css like...

#mesh {position: fixed; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; z-index: -1; background: url(images/bg.png) repeat; opacity: .8}

Its controlled by the JS, open the custom.js file and go to line 217

jQuery('#backstretch').css({opacity:.08,visibility:"visible"});

I've tried literally everything I can think of. I just can't find #backstretch in the stylesheet and I think i've narrowed it down to that being the culprit. I'm supposed to release this tomorrow so any help you can give is greatly appreciated.
