I really want to do this to maintain a consistent look and feel to my branding... can you please discuss this further and possibly show some example code explaining how this can be customized?

the theme uses the menu with a class to set the "logo"

you can add a imaged based one in the header.php file just before the menu but you'll need to modify the css a bit and add a wrapper around both the logo and the menu

Can you please help by showing how to replace the text-based logo with image-based (png) logo? And where in the script has to be modified fot it?
