Hi there,

As I mentioned above, the latest version of the theme has changed the way options are managed. If you upgraded, you need to visit the "customize" page (under appearance) and make sure all those settings are properly addressed. OptionTree is no longer used.

Let me know if that helps.

Best,

Chris

Hello Chris,

I haven't made any changes. The parent folder for the theme is your new updated version that is 100% non-edited. The only edits I have on the child theme are CSS edits and some custom images.

My CSS shouldn't be messing with the themes. I tried to take the CSS and all child theme items off, but still doesn't bring in optiontree options like Google fonts, etc.

Hi there,

Odd. Do you have any additional plugins installed?

Also, I still see some customizations made to the theme. In order for me to continue troubleshooting any issues, I'll have to ask that you use the default version of the theme in order to rule out your edits being the cause.

Hope you understand.

Best,

Yes I can hit save changes on my option page. But for some reason it won't activate? When I log out and come back to that page it still has the Background image url. I copied and pasted that URL and it's correct. Image comes right up.

Same with Google custom fonts tab. All options are populated but just not registering with the site.

Any further ideas/instructions?

Thanks for the help.

Hi there,

Looking at your source code, all your theme options are showing up blank.

Are you able to click "save & publish" on the customize page after you make changes?

Let me know.

Understood Chris,

I went ahead and deleted the child theme PHP files...I may regret it, but don't remember what I changed.

Either way, it's working now, however the fonts are not showing as Google Font 'Lato'. This is the text I put under the theme options for Google fonts: <link href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Lato' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'> and the CSS keyword is "Lato".

Also under theme options I setup default background to be: http://www.sprocketdb.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/default.jpg and it won't show up on this page: http://www.sprocketdb.com/profile/bios/

ANy thoughts?

Thanks,
Lorne

Hi there,

Unfortunately I don't have the bandwidth to troubleshoot child themes or customizations like that. I hope you understand that I'm only able to address issues/bugs with code/themes that I developed.

Best,

Thanks for the post Chris,

So I went ahead and switched to the Default theme and it showed the images. My theme is a child theme so that way issues wouldn't happen when I updated :( Do you happen to have suggestions for what is wrong with my child theme? http://www.sprocketdb.com

I really only did major CSS edits, I don't believe I did any other major edits. I edited some php pages, so maybe that's where it's messing up?

Any suggestions? I don't think it's my hosting I think it's these edits. Should I compare my PHP files to yours and see what is missing?

Hi there,

I'm not sure what they're talking about. Access file? Never heard of anything like that.

Zoom doesn't have any PHP requirements. Nor does it have any control over your content in the database.

Unfortunately this is an issue you need to resolve with your hosting. It's VERY odd to me that they would switch PHP versions back and forth like that.

Additionally, I see that you have some customizations applied to the theme. Try using the default setup of the latest version of the theme and see if that has any impact.

Hope that helps.

Best,

Chris

Hello there,

I upgraded my WPZoom template to the latest one on ThemeForest because when I upgraded my Cbeyond hosting to 5.4 PHP (as they are requiring me to do) the entire site was down. So I upgraded latest Zoom template.

Now when CBeyond changed my hosting back to 5.4, the site works, but no images or content is uploaded? Also the menu links are Times New Roman font? CBeyond told me "to ask if you had the access file hardcoded for 5.3 or 5.4, if not, that needs to be done."

How do I fix this? The website is here: http://www.sprocketdb.com

Thanks,
Lorne

Hi there,

Yes, everything should work just fine. I'm not aware of any PHP version issues with my themes.

To make sure this isn't a theme issue, try using a different theme to see if the issue persists.

Let me know.

Thanks!

Hello there,

Our Hosting company updated our account from PHP 5.2 to PHP 5.4 and it caused an error that would not allow us to use our site.

Is your most recent update in compliance with PHP 5.4? We need the code to be updated in order to have a functioning site when they update it.

Thanks,
