All images are resized to 618x293.

It's definitely related to an image. All the images in the slider are taking their resize dimensions from whatever the lead image in the slider is.

Running WordPress 3.1 on the demo site with no problems.

I added two posts to the slider. One with a really long title and one with a fairly short title. Both work just fine and are not squished.

Try uploading these images to make sure it isn't a problem with the images your using...

We are having the same problem as well with our theme since upgrading and editing posts in wp 3.1.

EDIT: FYI. Appears to be related to the length of the Title text. If two lines, I get the "squished" main image. If not, no "squish".

I'm having the same problem. The images get "squished" as soon as I add a 5th post to the featured category. Even if I modify the header.php file to accommodate 5 posts, the main images are still sized incorrectly until I remove the 5th post.

Really hope there's a fix.

The line in the functions.php is correct. We have NOT made any changes to the template files. We have a few plugins but have not done much customization. The slider was not working when we installed the theme. I did try to adjust the "media" settings. Perhaps you can provide be the settings for that section? Thank you!

This is very strange.

The image is generated properly, with the correct height. However, WordPress is assigning a height attribute to the image tag, which isn't the proper height (obviously). Nothing in the theme is telling it to do this, so it appears to be a WordPress bug of some kind.

The only thing that would make this a theme issue is if the "main" thumbnail size in function.php was changed. If you open up "functions.php" and checkout line 4, you should see the following...

add_image_size( 'main', 618, 293, true );

Make sure it says "293". If it does...

I noticed that you made some changes to the template files, so if I were to troubleshoot the issue, I would start with your edits.

Strange. Can you provide a link to the site? Maybe the URL to the actual image being used by the slider (not a mirror of the image)?

Hello. The featured images for the slider on the homepage are not showing correctly. It's getting squished into the first half of the image area. The image is made to fit the 618x293 size. Am I missing some setting to fix this?
