go to the folder of wpnocturnal template you bought (i guess :)), with HELP, PSDs folders, there is demo_content.xml file (locate it)
then in wp admin / tools / import select Wordpress from the services and import that xml file (you can leave "Import attachments" unchecked to avoid transfering lots of data)
(if there is no Wordpress service on Import page, you'll need to install plugin http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-importer/)

As a matter of fact, if you take a look at my site (MASHEverything.com) you can see that the theme does recognize that there are (7) posts in the home slider at the top right. It's just getting hung up navigating to them all the sudden for some strange reason.

vedranjaic, I didn't do anything. My copy of the theme mysteriously stopped working at a point where I wasn't making any new posts or content/coding changes. I came back to my site to make some new posts only to stumble across a broken slider. Upon not being able to figure out the issue I wiped my site clean, created a brand new database with a fresh installation of Wordpress, re-downloaded/installed the original Nocturnal files from my ThemeForest account to my host, and started from scratch. Same exact problem. I'm going crazy trying to figure this one out still a full week later. Very, very frustrated.

chrisreg, so what did you do to break it?
when it wasn't working for me, i tried to import demo_content.xml file which came with the template, and after the import, home slider simply started working
then, after couple of hours deleting imported posts 1 by 1, after i deleted the last one which was imported, slider stopped working again

vedranjaic, unfortunately that isn't the problem or resolution with us (or at least me). I have my categories, multiple posts, and my Option Tree all set accordingly. As I described, my site was functioning 100% with my Nocturnal theme for about six months before this happened. But thank you, I do appreciate the attempt.

found the answer
you need at least 2 categories and in both at least 1 published post. (2 posts in 1 category which you use on home slider, just so you have something to slide with)
dont know why you need to set it up like that, but thats the solution

Rudee I agree with everything you're saying. I was asking just to see if there were any variable factors between my and your situation, since they seem to be almost identical problems. But it doesn't really seem like there's much difference as my host has all the necessary features/functions as well so I'm completely stumped at this point.

I do know that I've been requesting assistance for the past week and have gotten little to no response either. I actually purchased this theme twice technically, so I understand your frustration. Hopefully these guys can make good of this increasingly bad situation sooner than later.

@ChrisReg: The host is located in Bulgaria with cPanel and all the features it gives. No problems so far. I have my own servers running different platforms, i might check this issue on them with new install to clear that out.

This looks a lot like the same problem I'm having with my site MASHEverything.com. Site WAS working perfectly fine. Now all the sudden I'm getting the disappearing act when trying to scroll through posts with the navigation arrows.

The kicker is, after an entire weekend on the phone/chatting with my host's tech support, I decided to delete everything and rebuilt my site from scratch. All fresh installations, no plugins, etc. Same exact problem.

Hi there,

It doesn't appear like you've fully setup the theme. I don't see a logo, widgets, audio, background image, etc.

Be sure to visit the theme options and fill out all the necessary fields and populate the site with content to make sure that isn't the cause of the problem.

Also, make sure your permalink structure is set to "month and name" on the permalinks page in the WordPress dashboard.
