Regarding featured image, the individual post pages do not display that by default. You can simply insert the image into the post content if you want to use it. Not all users want the image on that page, so this way it's an option for you to decide.

Found one more issue: When I click to open one of the posts, the "featured image" does not appear in the full text display. Is there a code missing? On other blogs, the image displays with the full text.

Now I have another issue: I installed BuddyPress and now the rotating images are not showing, and the footer is not displaying correctly. What should I check to correct these issues?

Hi there,

WordPress Aid has a built-in home page that displays posts. You do not need to assign a static page on the "reading settings" page in the WordPress dashboard. Please select "recent posts" as the home page and that will activate the built-in home page of the theme.
