There shouldn't be any text in the main content area of the home page.

If you're referring to the menu, I'll be submitting an update soon that adds support for WordPress 3.0 menu system.

Is it possible to have the first content line on the home page not saying 'Home' & then adding a text header of choice, while keeping the words 'Contact' & 'About' etc on their respective pages?

If so can you tell me how to do it

N.B. I suppose your example page with the slideshow already does this
