hi

i want them to show up so people can select them when inserting a post, but only show the categories on the menu that have posts in them. do you know what i mean?

You should be able to remove those Categories through your Menu Manager so they do not show up in the navigation.

Go to Appearance > Menu.

i have added a few categories then have no content yet but when you click on one it is showing the page not found image:

Sorry, but you are looking for something that isn't here.

is there anyway to hide categories that have no content in them as i dont want people clicking in them and finding nothing there.
