you need to finish setting up the site. You need to have at least 2 items in the slider and add widgets for the sidebar.

I just created a new database, installed Wordpress, uploaded and activated the church theme and when I went to view the site in IE8 it again was dropping the header image after it loads.

Just added a second image and still experiencing the issue. When I get back to the office tomorrow I am going to try to install WP again in a new database and just start from scratch.

I re-uploaded all the original files to start from scratch and again deactivated the plugins and the header is still disappearing in IE8.

@steprescott You still have errors. Take a look at your source code in your widget...

@jhorch I see you've heavily customized the theme. I can only troubleshoot default installations as I don't provide support for customizations. I ran your site through the validator and see a lot of extra errors. You might want to start there.

I just discovered the the same issue this morning. I had been viewing the site in Chrome and Safari and then happened to view it in IE 8 and noticed the header was not appearing. Also the bar in the slider is gone along with the admin tools on top of the page when loggined in. I do not believe I have errors in the page. I deactivated every plug-in and it still did not work.

Fixed the error, but the error with the banner is still there.... any ideas?

You might want to double check that. I see an HTML error in your "contact us" widget. You forgot to wrap the email address in an li element.

You have errors in your markup. Make sure you're properly opening/closing tags in the sidebar markup.

I have this same problem but could not find a solution on here. Any help will be greatly received!

I am having trouble with my header.jpg file displaying in IE. It works if I run IE in compatibility mode. No problems with it in Safari, Chrome or Firefox. I didn't see any other threads on this issue.
