Hi there,

I'm not sure why it is doing that. Have you tried using the demo video to see if it might have to do with the file size of the video you're using?

Let me know if trying a smaller file sized video helps.

Best,

Christopher

Hi,

I'm using Chrome and Safari on OS X Yosemite.

However, you might be seeing it and not realize it. There's a photo of a sign that I set as the header image. So if you see that image first for like 2 seconds before the video background starts then you're seeing the "flash". I changed the transition timing from .5 to 2 seconds in the background CSS as a workaround so the image flash didn't seem so awkward.

So there is still an action that calls up the image header right before the video background starts. I just can't seem to find where it is in the code.
(I'm not a PHP expert but I can understand/read it a bit)

Is there a way to have the site just skip loading the image header and go right to the video background? I don't want to hide the image header altogether though because I need one for mobile devices.

Thanks,
Jillian

Ok, I found in the functions.php file where you have the default image set to your bridge file. So I found the file and I renamed it so it will not pull that image anymore.

However, I'm still running into the issue of the header image flashing if I have one uploaded. Here's my particular situation:

For desktop viewing, I do not want the header image to flash because I only want the background video to play.

For mobile viewing, since mobile devices are not capable of playing background videos, then I do want the header image to display, so I don't necessarily want to hide the header image either.

In summary again, I do want a header image but I don't want it to flash before the video background when viewing on the desktop.

Hopefully I explained that well enough? :)

Thanks,
Jillian

Hello,

I have a video background set. When I load the homepage, the header image flashes for one second before switching to the video background. If I 'hide' the header image, then your default mountain road image flashes instead. I can't seem to find where your code is pulling that mountain road image from to delete it since it's not located in my media library.

My main concern is not having any header image flash before the video background.

Here is the link to the site: http://raisingbertie.com/fullsite/

Thanks,
