Thanks Christopher

It kind of works, the color opacity flashes on and then corrects as the pages continue to load.The easy fix for me now maybe to keep both so on an update I will be partially covered?

Thank you for your quick response.

Thanks for sharing!

I don't recommend editing the core files, though, as they will be lost if you update the theme.

Maybe try this...

#topBarBackground {opacity:1 !important;}

Best,

To address the Top bar opacity issue , Adding the code to the custom CSS box does not work. However I was able to resolve it by adding

#topBarBackground {opacity:1;}

as you suggested to the bottom of the demo.css file which did the trick.
Thanks for a great theme.

Hi Chris

That worked, thanks. However, the header on other pages are too small. So I have decided to leave as is. That is after I adjusted the logo padding.

Is there a way to pad out the other header pages while keeping the homepage header at a certain size? I guess it is a matter of tweaking the topbar wrapper, but not sure what numbers I should put in there.

Thanks
Janet :)

Hi Chris

Sorry, I should have fixed that before I contacted you. Yes, you are absolutely right! I have fixed this and it has improved the spacing.

However, it does still pads out quite a bit for the page content that I have put in the header. Can you advise how to reduce this for the page content?

Thanks :)

Hi there,

Your logo has padding applied to it (in the actual image). Reference: http://ontofood.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/04-white-png-01-01-01-e1431577653711.png

Be sure to upload/use a logo with no extra padding.

Hope that helps.

Best,

Hi Chris

Not sure if I am on the right messages. I am trying to make the header on my home page smaller.

I have recently added a logo which has made it larger. I did have a large area in the header where I used a page to add some information. I'd like to make the space from the padding in the page smaller, if that is possible?

I tried the padding you suggested above and changed numbers around but with no change, I even tried using !important; in there to see if this makes a difference and it doesn't appear to:

#topBar #logo {padding-bottom:30px;}
#welcome {padding-bottom:80px;}

If you could advise what I need to do to get the space around the page smaller.

Thanks

Thanks, I did just give up and remove the CSS code. I'm just making adjustments myself to accommodate the custom look I'm after. I understand your need for limiting your free support.
I will only bother you in the future if it's a specific theme related issue.

Well, I can't afford the custom support unfortunately. I just want to know why when I put the code you suggest into the custom CSS box it doesn't 'take'. Nothing happens.

Neither lines of code work for me. Is there a special way it needs to be pasted into the box?

On second thought. I think making that header in full color isn't going to work, or else you would have designed it that way :) I've changed my design to use your header as planned except I would like it to be less high. Could I make it take up about 1/3 less vertical space? Not quite as shallow as the secondary pages (which I love), but just a little less scrolling to get down to content on the home page? Here is what I have so far. I love having your demo content. I've only updated the home page with my own content so far. I'd like to get the header solved before moving on.

THANKS for your support!

It didn't change when I added your new code to the CSS Customize box. Is there something else I should do? I did clear my browser cache just in case.
