The OptionTree content in the theme folder is not the actual plugin. Those are just files OptionTree uses. You still need to install the OptionTree plugin separate from the theme.

Hi - Okay, thanks for your suggestions but I'm still running into the same problem. I found the file manager through my host's control panel, and found where I can upload (or FTP) files. Great. However, I can't drag and drop folders perhaps b/c I'm on a Mac. I also can't upload a folder unless it's zipped .... so, I bought Stuffit so that I can properly compress a folder (figured this would be the solution to Mac's compression issues). I compressed the WPBM folder and uploaded it to the wp-content/themes public folder as the video suggested. I right clicked it to extract the files. Looks good. The images, option-tree and scripts folders exist within WPBM, but just to be safe, I zipped the option-tree folder within WPBM and uploaded that to the wp-content/plugins public folder. Extracted the contents. Did the same for the images folder into wp-content/images.

I then visit my wp-admin blog page. I can see that Brick and Mason 1.0 is there, and I activate it.

Still, no Themes Option link anywhere on the left hand menu bar.

The weird thing is that I don't see option-tree under the 'installed plugins' area. It KNOW the option-tree files are there - both under 'plugins' and within the WPBM folder on the public server, but they don't show up on my WP dashboard.

What should the 'file permission boxes' read?

I'm sorry Molitor. I'll buy you a cup of coffee. Amelia

Thanks for posting details here...

I think the problem is that Macs don't zip folders properly for them to be uploaded to WordPress.

I highly recommend using FTP to upload the theme folder as this will prevent any unwanted issues from happening. Here is a video walk-through for this: http://wiki.envato.com/buying/support-buying/solving-broken-theme-issues/

Also, I don't see in your description above that you installed the OptionTree plugin. I think I remember you saying you did on ThemeForest, but I wanted to double-check as I don't see that above.

I can assure you nothing is wrong with the theme, so it's important that we don't overlook any potential missteps.

Hi there, I'm so glad you are willing to help me install this theme. I've looked at hundreds of themes and LOVE this one. I really want to make it work. We've been talking on the themeforest page. Here's a summary of what I've done and what I'm having trouble with:

I'm using an iMac. OSX 10.6.8. Safari web browser. This is a new blog that I've just started. I bought a URL and hosting plan from host gator. The URL for the blog is ameliasphotoblog.com. I logged onto my host gator control panel, called them, and they instructed me to install Wordpress through their site using a link on their page. That worked. I visited my blog and logged in as my administrator. I noticed it needed to be updated to WP 3.2.1 so I clicked on 'automatically upgrade'. I had previously purchased your theme and downloaded the files onto my desktop. The themeforest folder I downloaded contained three folders - help_files, PSDs, and wpbm. None were zipped. I right-clicked on wpbm and compressed it in order to create a zip file. After logging onto WP as an admin, I went to the 'install themes' tab, clicked on upload, and selected the zipped wpbm folder. The B&M theme loaded seemingly fine. I clicked on 'activate' and it seemed to activate fine. EXCEPT that the 'theme options' link did not exist anywhere on the left hand menu. This pretty much renders the theme useless I think b/c functionality w/o it was confusing and incomplete. I've since uninstalled Wordpress from my host's site & reinstalled it. I've also deleted the theme from WP and reinstalled it. I get the same results every time. Thanks for any help you may be able to give me. Amelia
