Regarding the background pattern/cover, add the following to your Custom CSS box...

#mesh {display: none !important;}

Regarding the home page, it seems you were able to resolve this as it looks like the demo site now (not a long page).

I've been having some issues trying to get rid of the grid like texture that appears while first loading the page and overlays my background even when loaded.
On the theme's static preview, each post was divided into pages (http://premium.themolitor.com/?theme=thenovelist), but my long posts are one very long page instead.
Also, is there any way to center the header image?
