Hi there,

That's correct. This is mainly a map-focused theme. The blog feature is a secondary feature to the mapping system.

If you're looking to add or change the functionality of the theme, please use this form to submit a request: http://themolitor.com/custom

Thanks!

Yes, I had just the one "Blog" category selected in theme options. All our prior posts are categorized using 1-3 sub-categories of the "Blog" category. And as I stated above, I created 1 sample map post using the "locations" category and set the long/lat and address. The map on the home page is not appearing.

I'm getting the sense that this theme is not intended for applying to a pre-existing blog.

Before problem solving further I'm realizing I need to clarify our intention in using this theme. Most our content revolves around discussing and featuring music. Like the majority of blogs all our posts are organized chronologically to when they were posted. However, we've long wanted to literally map our all posts and thus have an alternative geographic organization. This is why we were very excited about this Navigation theme. But I'm now seeing that navigation posts and blog posts must be kept separated. Am I understanding this correctly? And is there any way possible to achieve what we are trying to do?

Thanks.

Hi there,

Since the map feature is the primary function of this theme, sub categories are not support for the blog. Please make sure you only have one "blog" category and that it is selected in the theme options.

Thanks!

Chris, so far I've only created 1 test locations post. It has "Locations" set as the category and it has longitude-latitude and address info. I've published this post and it is not showing up anywhere. The map on the home page is also missing.

All our prior blog posts are assigned to 1-3 different Blog sub-categories (essentially: audio, video and events).

Thanks,
Jacob

Hi there,

Have you added proper map data for all your location-based posts? If any post without proper map data is in a non-blog category, you'll have map display issues.

Let me know.

Thanks!

I've just started setting up the them and I'm experiencing the problem of the map missing on the home page. I've followed along with the setup video to replicate on our site and from reading over previous threads I've made sure of the following:
Front page is displaying "Your Latest Posts"
Theme Options>General>Blog Category is set to "Blog" (not "Locations")
Menus>Main Navigation Menu>"Main" (contains a custom "Home" link, an "About" page, and a "Blog" category.
I've also deactivated all plugins except Akismet.

I should mention that our blog was imported into WP from Posterous after it's shutdown announcement. We have over 200 posts that currently <b>Warning</b>: Illegal string offset 'latitude' in <b>/homepages/16/d92055579/htdocs/LaPelanga-v2/wordpress/wp-content/themes/wpnavigator/functions.php</b> on line <b>235</b>

Help appreciated.
