Finally finding what you're talking about, I tried disabling the google map feature by checking the box, 'Display Featured Image Instead of Map'. However, the error still showed.

So I actually populated the 'Address' box with the venue address, and now I have a google map showing on the post.

I would certainly prefer some flexibility in choosing whether or not to show a map, and it appears I have only two choices: Show the map or the error.

However, showing the map is much better than than the error, so I'll work with this for now.

Thanks for all your help!

Hi there,

As I mentioned above, the theme has a Google feature which is controlled via the "Address" field in the Custom Post Options box. More info: http://www.themolitor.com/help/eventure/#eventOptions

Let me know if that helps.

Event Expresso doesn't use a 'custom field' with content or html to dispaly the google map. Instead there is a place to type the address, city, state, zip, and a yes/no option to display the map. I double checked all the input fields, and there are no extra spaces.

I don't have a custom field available in my basic wordpress post area. This is not an Event Expresso event, it's just a simple wordpress post, linking to the Event Expresso event. EE is now disabled. So the Event Expresso Google field shouldn't even be in play.

Hi there,

The only error I see now is...

Illegal string offset 'google_map'

This error appears when there is incorrect data in the custom field for the google map on the post edit page. Incorrect data can include an extra space, so please make sure there is NOTHING (including extra spaces) in the field.

Let me know.

Best,

I disabled Event Expresso, and the error is still occurring. I thought it was some conflict with the Google maps in Event Expresso, but apparently not, because what's happening now has nothing to do with that.

Hi there,

Eventure has a built-in Google map feature. The "google_map" error is in single.php, which is in reference to a post option on the post edit page for that post.

I recommend checking the custom fields on the edit page just to make sure.

Best,

I'm not really sure what you're referring to. The content with the error is coming from the Event Expresso engine. It is the actual event page.

When I switch back to a different theme, the event page shows up fine, like this: http://www.foodsafetyadvisers.com/events/preventive-controls-for-human-food-harpc/

Hello,

I have Google maps enabled in my Event Expresso plugin. It was working fine until I installed Eventure. Now I'm getting these two errors on my event page:

Warning: Illegal string offset 'google_map' in /home/f00dsaf3ty/public_html/wp-content/themes/eventure/single.php on line 27

Catchable fatal error: Object of class WP_Error could not be converted to string in /home/f00dsaf3ty/public_html/wp-content/themes/eventure/functions.php on line 175

I DO have the Google API link set in the Theme -> Customize -> Google Custom Font area.
