That was it. What sucks is I had already read that other thread and didn't digest it I guess. I didn't know those parameters were in the settings tab. Much thanks as usual. You guys are taking away the noob in me one post at a time.

Cheers,

sounds line you need to change it in the settings, have it setup like the demo right?(blog category would be your "events")

Settings -> Reading -> Blog pages show at most

Sorry I thought maybe that would be confusing. THe only place I find to change the number of post shown per page is under appearance-theme options- home posts. I set the category to blog so the home page will show all posts regardless of category, i set it to "1" as recommended in the help file. I made two child categories "tracks" and "events" and made them part of the main navigation menu. When I click on lets say "events" I get the same layout as the home page, what I would like to do is leave the home page as is, but when the user clicks on "events" or "tracks" they get a traditional blog layout just going from top to bottom no pagination or sliders. But I like those features on the home page. Does that make sense? Harder to explain than it seems. Thanks for the quick reply.

Cheers,
Kade

Hey Kade,

maybe Im confused what your trying to do, if you go to Settings -> Reading, you can change how many posts are displayed on the blog/archive pages, also when the cat pages exceed the 10 posts theres a page navigation(like on the home)

let me know if that answered your questions

Hey working on a site. http://www.damnsonmusic.com I have a couple of test posts in different categories. I like the home page only having one post. Then I made a few categories as child categories to the blog category. In my main menu I made the menus point to the category of related posts. I find that if I change the "home" post in the theme appearance options to show 10 posts and reflect the category "events" or "tracks" I indeed get ten posts but they appear on the homepage. I would like the home page to allow only 1 or 2 posts ( the most recent by default) and when the user clicks on "events" or "tracks" then that category will show more posts per page. And when they exceed the max how to they find the next set of posts?

hope that makes sense. Your themes/support are bar none.
Cheers,
Kade
