The ZoomBox plugin I built/included adds the image pop-up functionality. There are also numerous other lightbox/pop-up plugins you can try for free.

OK, within the post I did, "Add Media", Upload Files, X (quit). Then Update the post. That did create a Gallery. But it's disappointing to not have the window pop open with the slide show option you used to have.

To edit the gallery I went to Media and deleted the file. That removed it for the gallery of that post.

I guess if you want to use the same picture in different galleries of different post, you have to upload the same image again with another file name?

If prettyPhoto updates their popup will you reinstall it?

Be sure that you're uploading the images to the post. You do not need to insert them into the post content. You just need to upload them and that's it.

Recently there was a vulnerability issue with the image lightbox/pop-up plugin I was using (prettyPhoto), so that has been removed. I included with the download files my own lightbox/pop-up plugin called ZoomBox. You can try using that.

I just installed The Navigator v2.2.5. I've installed several versions previously but this time when I created my first post the Gallery is missing. Details, Meta, and Comments are all there, but no gallery. Instead when I created a Gallery and added it to the post, the thumbnails are in the text of the page. If I click on a Thumbnail, no picture is show. What did I do wrong?
