Hi there,

The gallery will display any images attached to the post. In other words, any images that you upload from the post edit screen or assign as featured image will get attached to the post and display in the gallery.

If you delete images from your library, and they still appear in your gallery, this is probably due to a caching of the page. Have you tried clearing your browser cache? Are you using a caching plugin that needs to be reset/flushed?

Simply changing the post format will not really change anything as the format setting just determines how content is displayed. It doesn't determine if there are images attached to the post.

The best way to view the images that are attached to the post is the select the "uploaded to this post" option in the media library pop-up window. See the first highlighted item in this screenshot for an example: http://themolitor.com/help/contractor/images/gallery_order.jpg

I can guarantee there is nothing wrong with the theme. We just need to figure out if the issue is caching related or if we aren't properly deleting images, etc.

Some issues I'm running into post image gallery's....

First, I created a gallery post with 6 images in it. everything worked fine.
Then, I added a featured image to the post that is not part of the gallery images. but, for some reason it also shows up with my gallery images so I now have seven images now in my gallery. Now I delete one of the images so I have an even 6 images. I save and preview, nothing happens. all 7 images are showing. so I save the post as Standard to remove any cashing or anything. this removes the gallery. Then I insert a new gallery with new images and it's showing the old and new together now.

So long post short, gallery's can't be edited once it's been saved. none of the changes are being reflected. please let me know if I'm going about this the wrong way, or what your thoughts are.
