I figured away around this issue. I wanted to have a page displaying certain images only, thus used the built in gallery option and enabled fancybox when the image is clicked.

That isn't a theme option.

The way the theme is intended to work is each post represents a photo shoot, picture series or event. The main page displays all the different groups of images, with a single image used as the "key image" (think iPhoto events layout).

I'm wondering if it is all possible to display images on full-grid but not as posts.

Ie.

I can just upload an image then attach it to a page (portraits) and it will display that image.
