I checked with one of the default themes that's part of my installation and the pictures are rotated there too. I guess I have some debugging to do...

I can't think of anything that would cause an image to be rotated like that. I've never seen this happen in the 10+ years I've been doing web development, but there's a first time for everything I guess ;-)

The only thing I can think of is that your site is being translated. My suggestion is to revert to a 100% default setup of the theme/site and revert your edits so that we can figure out the issue. I'm fairly confident this doesn't have anything to do with the theme, but I'll keep working with you until I know for sure.

How are you achieving translation? If you're using a plugin, try deactivating it. If you manually made changes to the template files, try temporarily undoing those to see if there's any impact.

Hi,
I have had a lot to do lately so I didn't get around to test this before now. If I remove the line you suggested the pictures don't disappear. But the pictures are rotated on an phone/ pad compared to seeing the pictures on a PC screen. Is it other scripts that do something with the pictures?

I'm not sure why this is happening. It's possible the "retina.js" script is trying to replace the images with hi-res versions for those devices. We can check this by opening header.php and removing the following on line 41...

wp_enqueue_script('retina',get_template_directory_uri() . '/scripts/retina.js');

Let me know if that has any impact.

The result is the same with all plugins disabled.

The blog is in Norwegian so no support for translation is added.

How is the theme made responsive? The pictures are not scaled before uploaded, they are taken with a iPad. What is the difference in code when viewing on a PC screen and an iPad/ iPhone?

I have now updated to v1.2.4 of the theme

I have noticed the rotation but I'm not using a plugin etc so not sure what causes it. The web page has default setup and I have not done any customization to the theme since I wanted to check if it worked as wanted before starting to do modifications.

I did a new test now, I selected "new post" and inserted a old picture. This does not seem to be rotated but all pictures disappear after a few seconds.

All your images appear to have been rotated. How are you achieving this effect? Is it on purpose? Are you using a plugin?

Rotating images like this is not normal behavior, so that's the first thing I would look into.

I have set up the following webpage using your theme: http://www.bistrobt.com. Whn accessing the page with a phone or pad (either iOS or android) the thumbnails disappear after some seconds. If I open the demo page on themes.themolitor.com/kitchen this is not the case. If I open the page on a PC the page looks good. Any idea whats going on?
