I'm not sure if you can help me with this, but I'll go ahead and put it out there. My group is moving from what started out as a blog 7 or 8 years ago to a website instead. I looked up some instructions for how to make our blog look more like a webpage and found some information telling me that I could achieve that by using a "static" front page. I made that change on the previous version of Politico and it worked out fine but when we upgraded to the current version it no longer works. As you know, our slider is tied into the posts beneath it; but, what has happened now is that the slider is still fine, but the posts beneath it are gone and in their place is a blank page with a large comment box.

I'm not sure how to fix it. Any ideas?

Hi there,

No, I wouldn't add any code the would restrict anything. Especially plugins :-)

Best,

I kind of figured as much Chris. I just wanted to make sure that there is nothing in your code that restricts the use of plugins that are not included with your theme download.

Thanks!

Hi there,

Sorry, but I'm unable to provide plugin support. This is mainly because I have no developer knowledge of the plugin you're using. I also lack the resources necessary to research plugins to learn their inner workings in hopes of discovering the cause of the issue you're having.

My best suggestion is to contact the developer of the plugin to see if they have any insights for why their plugin is causing issues.

Hope you understand.

Best,

Christopher

Hi Chris! I was wondering if there is any reason why the form maker we are using does not work consistently with my theme? We are using Form Maker and our volunteer coordinator really likes the form. When we had your older version of Politico theme, we used Contact Form 7, but had to change when it stopped working with that version -- we needed a form asap and so switched to another plugin. I have deactivated Contact Form 7 that came with the new theme but am still having problems with our form. Specifically the form information is supposed to go to 3 email addresses and it is not going to some of them. Here's the URL: http://www.dentondemocrats.org/volunteer/

Thanks!

Margaret

Also, Shortcodes Ultimate absolutely does not work with the new theme. I have deactivated some plugins to see if we can get that functionality going, but so far -- nothing. It's making my job a lot harder. Any idea why that might be happening?
