Hey there,

I'm uploading an update (v1.0.6) right now with the following changes...

1. New checkbox option on Customize page to select the categories you want to display full screen (i.e. recreate the "Videos" page template for selected categories).

2. New checkbox option on the Customize page to "Use Poster-Style Font" for footer credit text.

Hope that satisfies some user demands ;-)

Best,

Christopher

focuspulling - yes the functions.php change is necessary. If you are using a google font you have to 'pull' it from the google through their api, just as Six-Caps was before.

I think we should have been given better warning about this as I didn't see anything in association with the update. Anyway, Brad, are you saying that the change to functions.php is an additional, further necessary step in addition to your post at the beginning of this thread? I prefer the original typeface, which is traditional movie poster style, but perhaps you are saying that even so, the revision to functions.php is necessary.

Again, this is something the author of the theme should have explained, but I appreciate you providing the information.

I had the same problem - difficult to read. Try this google font as a possible solution.

#vys-credits span {font-family: 'Yanone Kaffeesatz', sans-serif; font-weight: 300;}

I thought it was a good compromise, but my client is really fixated on Six Caps.

Don't forget to make the change in functions.php:

//wp_enqueue_style( 'poster-fonts', $protocol.'://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Yanone+Kaffeesatz' );

I personally like this better than either Six-Caps or Open Sans. Not quite poster, but readable at small sizes.

Regards,

Brad

Hi there,

Yes, this was a design decision made as the most recent update was done for improving the general legibility of the content. In response to lots of feedback regarding the difficulty in reading the credits text, I made the decision to improve the legibility of the credit text by applying an 'open sans' font style to it and removing the difficult-to-read (but visually interesting) six caps font style.

Thanks for sharing your approach to reapplying that font style. I'm sure it will be helpful to others that prefer the visual style over the legibility of the text.

Best,

Christopher

I was notified by ThemeForest that the Vysual template had been updated. Dowloaded and installed update per FAQ - How do I update my theme? in General FAQ. Soon noticed that my footer was being displayed in Open Sans vice Six Caps as expected.

In style.css I found this at line 2354 :

	/*font-family: 'Six Caps', sans-serif;*/
font-family: 'open sans', sans-serif;

I removed the commenting and deleted line 2355.

Added the following line to header.php after line 8:

<link href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Six+Caps" rel="stylesheet">

It now appears to be working as expected.

Thought you should know.
