Hi there,

The slider is set to 900px × 350px. Images need to be at least that big to be used in the slider properly (larger images will automatically get adjusted to fit).

what are the ideal sizes for a featured image? I had loaded one that was 640 × 480 and it was stretched on the slider.

Hi there,

If the feature image you're using is going to show in the slider, use an image large enough for that first. WordPress will automatically adjust that image to fit on the category pages sections.

I am having the same issue. There is only ONE featured image and the dimensions are different for the slider and for the post image?

Please advise.

If I upload an image 600px wide, when it expands to 900px to be used for the slider, it does not maintain the aspect ratio, which makes the picture look bad in the slider.

I have both 600px and 900px wide pictures available, but I only see how to specify one as the featured image. Is there a way to tell WP not to change the aspect ratio when making the image larger? Or is there a way to specify one image file for the slider, and a second image file for the post image?
