Hi there,

It shouldn't be a version thing. I just did a test on a separate install and don't see the added URL content (as you mentioned). I'm not sure what's going on as the URL system is 100% WordPress.

My best suggestion is to make sure you have plugins deactivated. Sorry I can't be more help with this.

Best,

Christopher

Appreciate your fast response Chris !

By looking at your demo source (page source), it is exactly what I wanted. But over my post and pages, it sports extras that I wrote above. Wondering how come your posts have been this lucky !

I'm not sure if this because of the difference in versions we might be using (mine is 4.4.2).

Though trying to figure out here at my end, but if there is any chance that I can get as yours, I'll be twice as happy.

Thanks !

Hi there,

The featured image and its URL is 100% generated by WordPress. There are settings in the functions.php that tell WordPress what size the images should be, but after you upload an image, that process is controlled by WordPress.

I'm not sure of an appropriate method to address the URL issue you have as WordPress doesn't seem to have any functions available that address this.

My best suggestion is to perform a Google search to override the featured image URLs generated by WordPress.

Again, the URLs are not theme-generated, so to my knowledge there is not a theme-related method to adjust/remove/edit those URLs.

If you come across something theme-related that would help with this, please let me know and I'll be happy to assist as best I can.

Best,

Christopher

I'm puzzled seeing this. No matter what dimension (especially taking care of height i.e. 340px), the featured image will always be resized with image dimension being appended to it.

For example, if an image xyz.jpg is uploaded, it will be resampled to xyz-340x340.jpg (though the original image is already of 340x340 px).

I wouldn't want this because of 2 man reason :

1. I want the same image to come up that I exactly uploaded not the re-sampled counterpart.
2. It many a time increases the image size. Where I'm trying to optimize the image to save bits and bytes, this defeats the whole purpose as the resampled image will always be greater than original image.
3. Ive tried everything (even adhering to the dimension that your demo does)but with no luck. The image url will always be appended with something that I wouldn't want.

Any fix ?
