The slider uses the first image uploaded to the featured post. If you uploaded an image and decided it wasn’t the right one, or it was corrupted, be sure to delete it before or after you upload the next image.

How can I use an image that I have already uploaded to my media library? Is the only way to get the image in the featured section to upload a new image / re-upload an already existing image in to your media library? Also, how do you change a featured image once you have already created the post?
