Hi there,

If you don't see the excerpt field on the post edit screen, click "screen options" in the upper right-hand corner of the screen, and check the box for the excerpt option.

Let me know if that helps.

Best,

Chris

Hi Chris,

I see your reply above: "You can control the text by using the excerpt field on your page edit screen. Just enter the text you want to display there and it will overwrite the auto-generated text."

I see no 'excerpt field' on the page edit screen. I see the 'Head Description'. I am running a high performance SEO plug in that adds a few fields below the main body text area, but those are the only fields I see.

Hi there,

CSS doesn't have a method for restricting the length of paragraph text like this. Beyond using the methods provided by WordPress for editing the excerpt, manipulating the excerpt length requires custom PHP functions. For customizations like this, please submit a customization request here: http://themolitor.com/custom

Thanks!

Is there a way to limit the auto text in the css file rather than having to remember to put the excerpt we want every time? Thanks

Hi Chris,

Where do I go / where do I find the option to reduce my 'excerpt' size... to reduce the # of characters to post in the excerpt so the 'Read More >' doesn't get 'cut off'.

@webdesignerart,

the theme doesn't have a image resizing built in as it most those scripts leave a huge security risk you'll need to resize them manual

Hi Mate,

Same issue with my theme:
http://webdesignerart.com/textiles/

The images are not resizing like in demo. In DailyPress Demo slider image size are:
260 x 194px.

So we have to re-size image manually to it, Is theme haven't automatic image resizing feature?

The issue is my client upload images in post and after image resizing half images show with no center alignment.

Please guide me to fix this issue.

Regards
Webdesignerart

The home page uses a series of sliders to display multiple posts from a single category. As with most sliders, the dimensions are predetermined (i.e. they do not change dimensions based on the size of the content). If you're using a tall image or have a long title or excerpt, the content may run too long and get cut off.

The solution is to either (1) use the suggested image size used in the demo, (2) edit your title to not be too long or (3) edit your excerpt to not be too long.

#3 above might be the easier adjustment to achieve.
