Hi there,

Sorry, but that goes a bit beyond the level of support I'm able to provide here in the forums. If it was something I knew off the top of my head I would gladly help, but if it requires a bit of research (i.e. review if this change affects supporting scripts), testing (i.e. review if any browsers have an issue with this change) and custom code then I have ask that you submit a request for customization services here: http://themolitor.com/custom

Hope you understand.

Thanks!

Christopher

Hi,
I have a issue with Polylang (multilanguage plugin). When I change the language of the website everything works well except the Main Menu. The reason is that AJAX doesn't reload the Main Menu. Can you provide some piece of code to fix that?

Hi there,

Yes, it's an unfortunately side-effect to having an AJAX feature for audio.

I certainly realize the value provided by plugins, but I always design/develop my themes to be fully functional (for the intended audience/purpose) without any need for third-party tools or plugins.

Best,

Christopher

Man, I'm glad I found this. Was finding for months that lots of plug-ins/embeds required a refresh every time they loaded (e.g., Gravity Forms, FV Player, etc.). By turning off AJAX -- compromising the audio feature as a trade-off -- I'm back in business. Wish it weren't a conflict. Anyway, this is definitely a clarification to be emphasized.

Nevermind. I think it was actually an issue with the customizer/widget issue, not with AJAX. Seems to be working now.

Thanks,

Hi, Christopher--

First off, love this theme. I'm using for a job-search campaign. I loaded a plugin today that inserts a contact-me form on a page. After I did that, I noticed the slideshow feature on the homepage stopped working on my desktop. Iphone and Ipad are still showing the slideshow function working. I deleted the page with the contact form, removed it from the menu, and deactivated and deleted the plugin, but it still isn't working. Do you know what's going on?

Cheers,
Miles

VYSUAL makes heavy use of AJAX in order for the music/audio feature to continuously play as you navigate the different pages of the site.

For those unfamiliar with AJAX, each time you click a link to a different page, AJAX allows VYSUAL to grab that page content and load it onto the page without having to refresh the page. This is the main tool that allows the audio to keep playing and it also creates a more cinematic experience for users.

There are some downsides to using AJAX. The main difficulty is that pages using custom scripts (or content/plugins that uses JavaScript/AJAX) must have those elements custom loaded in order for them to work properly when the page content is loaded via AJAX.

Implementing these custom scripts is not something that is covered under my standard support services, but you have a couple options:

if you're not using the audio feature, you can turn AJAX off on the Customize page.

You can enter any scripts you need to load after each AJAX call on the customize page.

Some plugins or custom scripts are more complicated that others. I may be able to help with implementing some plugins (via my customization request form), but you may be forced to choose between using AJAX or using the plugin you have selected.

Please feel free to post any questions you may have regarding this topic.

Best,

Christopher
