Hi there,

If you see "stylesheet missing", that means you did not properly upload the theme. Be sure that you unzip the files you download from themeforset. The theme file that you upload should contain a style.css file inside.

I uploaded via FTP the Brick Mason theme -- it won't allow me to install it since it says "stylesheet missing". How do I resolve?

I had the same problem with wordpress. It kept showing me "Are you sure you want to do this?" when I tried uploading through wordpress admin.
However I tried uploading through the host website and it worked! It doesn't need any external FTP agent. (Atleast for bluehost. I am not sure about other hosting sites.)
You can simply go cpanel/file manager and upload a zip file to public_html/yourdomainname/wp-content/themes
extract the zip file and it will show the theme in wordpress admin.
The theme is spectacular and just what I needed!

I'm sorry I didn't know I should install wordpress first. Now I can find the admin panel.

What is the address of the WordPress admin panel? I follow people's answer on wordpress.org "http://yoursite.com/wp-login.php" but it seems not applicable to your theme.

Thanks they helped me :) Just uploaded thru filezilla and into the theme folder.. :) So the simple solution is to upload thru Filezilla thru the main FTP then into the specific folder of the domain and then into wp-content then theme folder and upload there :)

If you are installing your theme from the WordPress theme installer, but get a message that says “Are you sure you want to do this?”, most likely your web server is configured with PHP settings that are too low to allow the theme ZIP file to upload. Specifically, PHP is configured to a maximum file upload size limit at 8 megabytes or less. If the web server is rejecting the upload, WordPress gives you a rather ambiguous message in response. This is not a theme fault or bug.

You'll need to contact your hosting provider to increase your upload size limit.

Purchased the Vysual theme and keep getting same error “Are you
sure you want to do this?” I see all these saying..check here check there..but a little support would be great.. This is not my 1st, 2nd or 3rd install so please help. I love this theme and have a movie/Documentary were are getting ready to release :) Thanks

Can you confirm you're uploading the proper zip file? Often times users improperly upload the full zip file from ThemeForest that includes more than just the theme. Please confirm you're just uploading the theme zip.

If that doesn't help, please provide some details about what you see after uploading the theme. Do you get an error message? Does the front page look strange?

Can you provide a link to your site?

Hi there,

All themes purchased from ThemeForest require a self-hosted installation of WordPress on your hosting account. WordPress.com is not a supported platform because it does not allow you to install themes that were purchased from ThemeForest.

Hello,

I downloaded the Politico theme using the Wordpress Only Zip and on the back end, everything works perfectly and the preview screen looks exactly how it should.

But when I go to my actual site (gameofvotes.org), nothing is there except a little bit of the background texture - there's no slider, no colored bar where the slider would go, the donate button is transparent and the countdown is all wrong.

I've removed and re-installed the wordpress zip file twice, and also removed and manually added the theme directly from my cPanel file manager. Every time it looks perfect on the preview screen but totally wrong on the front end.

Hi, I'm having a hard time installing it on wordpress. This is the first time I've tried to use a theme that it not already on wordpress. I'm not seeing a "add new theme" button. Where is it exactly? Do I need to download wordpress on my computer to do this installation?

I haven't heard of this issue before, so I searched the WordPress forums and found a response that appears to address issues like this...

This is almost always a setting in the php.ini file.

/etc/php.ini for linux.

Check that the max_ limits are larger than your
file and the time it takes to process.

Here are the relevant settings in my file. The default
setting are not large enough to accomplish what you are
doing.

max_execution_time = 180
max_input_time = 600
post_max_size = 128M
upload_max_filesize = 256M

If you don't know how to make those changes, your host should be able to assist you.

With WordPress 3.9, after you click "themes", you need to click the "add new" button. Then click "upload".

There is no upload tap on my dashboard once I click themes it just shows me a bunch of preloaded themes.
