<p>Yes - this is simply a Plugin as you've identified.  You're more than welcome to try any 3rd Party plugin with the theme.  We cannot guarantee that it'll work because it is a 3rd party developer, but many people find success with Plugins.</p>
<p>Good luck and let us know what you end up using.  I'm sure other users could benefit from your experience.</p>
