Try this...

When you add a Gallery to the Page, do so before adding images into your Content Body, but make sure the images you want to use are already in your Media Manager. After the Gallery Attached to the page, then insert the images from your Media Manager into the post.

Give that a try and let me know if it works.

Ideally I would like the pictures that are in the content (Details) of the blog post to not appear in the gallery. Since I implemented this theme after I wrote the posts, the thumbnails in the gallery are mis-sized. I really dont want them there at all (especially not missized).

Is there a way that you can exclude some photos in a blog post that you are using in the content but do not want to appear in the gallery dropdown?
