Hi.
To exclude some category from the blog, just edit line 24 in index.php in \wp-content\themes\wpaid\

for instance, if you need to exclude categorys ID 13 and 15

$wp_query->query('cat=-13, -15'. $homeCategory .'&paged='. $paged .'');

That's not possible, the sliders are dependent on the post template in Wordpress.

Few questions:

1) In your Option Tree settings, are you setting Home-Slider as your slider category?

2) Is Home-Slider a sub category of Blog? It needs to be it's own top level.

I probably set it up incorrectly, here's what I did:
I created a Home page and a Blog page (both default templates).
In 'Settings->Reading' I've set 'Front Page displays: A static page' and set the page 'Home' as the Homepage and the page 'Blog' as the Blog page.

When I add a new post for the slider (category 'home-slider') and a test post in the category 'blog' both of them show up on my blog page.

Did I do something wrong?

Just create a separate category other than the one you use for your slider post category. That should do it... if you need help setting that up just let me know.

Since we use posts in special categories, how can I exclude these posts from showing as a blog post?
