I explained you simply need to create a category called blog and link to that category in your menu and it will be displayed using the archive.php template so itll list down exactly like a tradition blog and you can view posts

if you want to setup multiple sites feel free to but that goes beyond what we consider support as its not a direct theme issue and youll need to fill a customization request out http://www.themolitor.com/custom

Dear ChrisK:
You did not answer my question.

I'm not seeing how 1 install will give me both an Events area and a Blog area. I am using the Custom Menu Feature, I assume you are describing, and have a Nav menu at the top with the events slider and calendar, (which is the reason I purchased this theme).

And I assume I can link to this Wordpress site from my HTML site with the url:domain.com/events/index.php.

But I also want a link from my main site labeled "Blog" which does not use the slider and calendar, does not have the Ajax calendar in the sidebar, and has the appearance of a more traditional blog.

It appears the "appearance" settings for these blog posts are global in they apply to all posts. I want to have two sets of "appearance settings", one for Events, and one for Blog posts.

I don't see how I can have two different looking blog posts without using multi-site so I can set the appearance settings differently.

And if I do use multi-site, I don't see how to create an HTML link to site 2. Site 1 I see is the url to index.php, but I don't see how to create a link to the start page for site 2. Can you point me to some documentation that shows me how to create such a link. I've looked throughout the codex, but as yet have been unable to find the info.

thanks,

to upload the sample data you need to go to your WordPress admin Tool -> Import -> select WordPress , the demo_content.XML is located in the download(it'll have you install an official plugin)

but to use it for the events and a blog you would create a category/sub categories for the events then create a category called blog and use the custom menu feature which is built into WordPress

Dear ChrisK:
I'm not seeing how 1 install will give me both an Events area and a Blog area.

I can see how I can make the theme focus on either Events, with the slider and calendar on the first page, or a blog, buy turning the slider and calendar off.

but I want a link from my main site labeled "Events" which uses the slider and calendar, and another link labeled "Blog" which does not use the slider or calendar, but shows the traditional blog posts.

Are you suggesting I can specify a different start up page in my link? How would I do that? With the multi site option on, the directory specified for the events site has no files in it. How would I specify the startup file in a link? It's normally "index.php" in the site directory.

Also, it appears the appearance options are global, and either refer to all pages or all posts. Are you suggesting I can control the appearance by category? And if so, how do I specify the category in the link I use to start the Events or Blog page?

It seemed to me I needed two installations so that I can have two different sets of appearance options. What am I missing?

Also, how do I load the sample data? Perhaps there is something there which will give me some answers.

thanks,

Dear ChrisK:
As I looked through the options, I found a place where the calendar needed the category selected. I chose events, and now I have a calendar, and other parts of the theme are starting come alive also. I will spend more time working with what I have before I bother you again.

Chris M said this theme includes a blog. I want both an Events tab, and a Blog tab. Should I create both an Events site and a Blog site and tune them differently, but with the same theme, eventure? What directory structure do you recommend?

mydomain.com - html
mydomain.com/wp - Word Press installed as Multi-Site
mydomain.com/wp/events - Eventure used for Events
mydomain.com/wp/blog - Eventure used as a regular blog

Thoughts?

Thanks much,

Thanks Chris K:
http://natlbusiness.com/TestBlog/tevents/

I added a post so I thought I should have some data. The fact that I didn't see a place to enter the event date and time made me think I failed somewhere in the installation.

Thanks,

Hello,

can you post a link to your site?

the likely hood is its looks empty because you havent added any content and the database is empty which is normal for WordPress, we do provide the sample XML files for people who want to have the demo content but most dont find it necessary as they end up deleting it.

the other plugins mention are just suggestions and not part of the theme

to upload the sample data you need to go to your WordPress admin Tool -> Import -> select WordPress , the demo_content.XML is located in the download

The installation instructions are fairly weak.

I installed the theme, and option tree from your video. The files received did not match the video, so I needed to guess what was correct.

Your Resources page talks about the Ajax calendar, Contact form 7, and Display widgets, but your installation section is silent regarding installation of these items. I have not yet installed any of them.

I am able to see something, but there is no calendar, none of my posts are displayed, I see no place to enter an Event time or Date in a post, and other problems. I'm assuming the installation is not yet complete.

I've completed every step listed in your installation instructions. So maybe now you can give me the rest of the steps, since they were not included in the documentation?

Thanks
