<p>Sorry, not sure how I missed this thread originally...</p>
<p>That's correct, the event date is controlled via the publish date. This was a design/usability decision I made so that the theme can make use of the built-in WordPress dating system, which allows the size of the theme to be extremely slim.</p>
<p>Also, if you ever switch themes in the future, you would lose that custom field data, which I felt was a bad usability feature.</p>
<p>Hope that explains things a bit.</p>

			<description><p>It's the published date for the post, which to me is very inflexible. Once you figure it out (It's in the notes provided) it works, but a separate value would be amazing.</p>
<p>Valoros - google 'wordpress meta (or custom fields) template tag' for info - it's pretty simple copy/paste job once you take the time to read :)
