Yes, category is properly assigned. It doesn't matter if i try to view the category that IS an event category (or its child) or that ISN'T (for example, i have created the category archive to store all passed events, this category isnt a child of main theme category and is displayed just like you said - like a blog - but it is actually good in this case.

http://wroclive.pl - this is my site
changes: query_posts($query_string . "&order=ASC"); - it doesn't matter whether i put ACS or DESC there, i still have the same order of the events.

Btw. thinkjon - your solution doesn't solve the problem in my site. First of all - i cannot make ALL categories as subcategories of the main events category - i have some categories that are not used as events.
2nd of all - i still tried it, i have deleted all of the other categories so that only parent category and its children were left - order is still the same, ASC not working :/

Hello,

Okay, we figured it out. See details below.

01. Go to Appearance > Theme >General. Select ONE of your categories to be the "Events Category." This will be the "Parent Category" later in Step 02.

02. Go to Posts > Categories. Make ALL other categories "Children" for the category you chosen in Step 01. In other words, make the category from Step 01 to be the "Parent Category" for all other categories.

03. Review the file archive.php and see if the line code is ordering the query_post using ASC
Code Example - query_posts($query_string . "&order=ASC");

04. NOW your categories posts with display in ascending order (most current to future. For example Oct 14, Nov 01, Dec 10 and so forth)

I hope this helps the others who has lost some hair trying to figure this problem out. There are no coding problems, just a simple setup feature many of us did not understand.

It's a great theme, love to see more features maybe some home page options.

Thanks,

Hello,

We purchased the theme on 08/29/12 so we have the most current files. We have no plugins installed. We are using this as a temporary website while the full version is being developed.

We changed the query_post within the Archive.php file (on line 13) to order by DESC (see code line below)
query_posts($query_string . "&order= DESC");

However, the categories are still listing the further date to the most recent (display is Dec 02, Nov 11, Oct 20 and so on).

Has anyone FOUND A SOLUTION to this simple madness? It's embarrassing because our client wants it changed and we cannot figure out have to make such a simple change. It's crazy.

Help is greatly appreciated and well, needed.

Thanks,
