Because this theme is using <?php the_content_rss(...);?> to display a snippet of the post, using the excerpt field will not override the content like it would if we were using <?php the_content(...);?>

If you want to only use the excerpt, you'll want to replace instances of <?php the_content_rss(...);?> with <?php the_excerpt(...);?>

Hi Chris
I was wanting to insert manual excerpts into my site, but if I enter them into the appropriate field in the post area they do not come up on the site. If I change to the default theme (twenty10) they appear.
Which part of the code is stopping these manual excerpts from appearing on this theme? Is it easy enough to change?
