I agree -- it's a plugin conflict, not a theme conflict. If a theme is Wordpress compliant, seems to be that a plugin should comply with it. I give up on those guys. Am trying to find an alternative solution. Previously I subscribed to e-junkie, but it cost $ each month to store files on their site, and they take a cut of each sale. Shouldn't be _that_ hard to have a secure link and a darn PayPal button...

Hi there,

I see the plugin developers say this falls under my responsibility, but the truth is this is a plugin-related issue. I understand that the plugin works on the 2014 theme, but that's not a proper assessment as that's a bare bones theme with no additional scripts or features implemented.

Unfortunately I'm limited in supporting issues caused by plugins. This is mainly because I have no developer knowledge of the plugin and lack the necessary resources to research and investigate the inner workings of the plugin to learn why it's breaking. I'm also not aware of anything theme-related that would cause a conflict as all my theme functions follow WordPress (and ThemeForest) best practices.

Sorry I can't be more help here. If the EDD guys aren't willing to review the issue you're having with their plugin, my best suggestion is to search for another plugin.

Best,

Chris

Well, I just heard back from EDD support:

"Yes definitely sounds like it’s the theme that’s causing the issue.

"Your next step is to get in contact with the theme’s developer and ask them for help. If you want to dig around, I’d start in the functions.php file and start commenting out included files until you find the one that’s causing the issue. This is the best way to narrow it down, until you find the function/s responsible."

Hi Chris,

Unfortunately, there seems to be a conflict between The Kitchen Table and the Easy Digital Downloads plugin that I'm try to use to sell my PDF cookbook.

http://how-to-cook-with-vesna.com/downloads/cooking-with-vesna-cookbook

When you click on the "$5.00 - Add to Cart" button and Ajax is enabled (within the EDD settings), the button spins forever. When Ajax is not enabled, the page just reloads, but the book is not added to your cart.

I have a question thread going on the EDD forum, but now that I've isolated the problem, I'm writing to you, also. (I ruled out all the other plugins -- the only thing that made the button work was changing to the 2014 theme.)

Do you have any suggestions? Besides resolving the conflict, I'm also open to other methods of selling the cookbook, like with a different plugin you recommend, or a non-plugin (but secure, so people can't download the cookbook if they happen to know the right URL) solution. Or a way to have your theme not activated on that particular page, or something like that.

Thank you!
