I just tested this and it works fine for me. To clarify, click the "text" tab and paste the following...

Copyright © 2009 - 2013 Adrian Cockcroft

Click save. Any time you click the "visual" tab, it will add those p tags back.

If you continue to have trouble, you can turn that text area into a single line field by opening "theme-options.php" and changing the following on line 399 from this...

'type'        => 'textarea',

...to this...

'type'        => 'text',

This will remove the "visual" and "text" options and just have a single line for you to enter text.

Hi Chris --

That "Footer Text" field just doesn't behave correctly.

Either:

I amend the content of the "Text" tab, click 'Save Changes', and it adds the <p> </p> tags itself.

Or:

The changes are ignored and it simply reapplies the previous text.

Whichever happens, it's still rendering a previous footer text above the updated footer in iOS. Interestingly I've just noticed that in MacOS Firefox it only renders the previous footer now.

Make sure you're using the "text" tab for the footer editor. If you're using the "visual" tab, it will add in <p> tags which create a second line.

I'm having problems with the footer in Brick + Mason.

On Safari on iOS it's showing two footers, one correct, the other one from a previous version.

On Firefox on MacOS I just see the old version.
