I actually was trying to figure out the answer to your problem this weekend, though it appears that you now know the answer.

Here's the answer to anyone else reading this message.

The recommended image settings for this theme are:

Settings>Media

Thumbnail 150x150
Medium 280x999
Large 590x999

Here's a suggestion to prevent squeezing and stretching with any portrait (vertical) photographs; make your absolute max width for your photograph set at 590 width.

Previously francovogt was posting a 800x1200 shot and this was negatively impacting the thumbnail. This poster now re-saved the same image but to 599x885 and everything looks fine. This does not require the regenerate thumbnial plug. Simply delete any old photographs that had weird thumbnails. Resize your image. Now post this re-sized version.

thanks blackhearts. I could not find that line. So I erased the offending image out of the post and lo and behold only one image is now there and it looks good. Although there is a slight squeezing of the image but not enough to be worrisome..

1. Go to Posts>Lindsey Webster and delete the lines in the body that will look something like:

href="http://www.therandomframe.com/wordpress1/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/ZZ2R0723-Edit.jpg" title="Lindsey Webster"/>

2. Click Update

That should remove your extra image.
