It's going to have to be a change to the EventsManager Plug-in. I suggest you work with that author.

I can provide the code that I used with the project I was working on, but that isn't wordpress nor "eventsmaanger" based. If you still want to know what I added, I'll provide it, but I'm not sure how much help it will be. If you can link me to the EventsManager plug-in I'll take a look at that and see if I can provide you with an idea of where to make changes on that instead.

That's what I was worried about - if the base implementation of Google Maps works fine, it's the way in which the Plugin is interacting with the Theme. Unfortunately there's nothing I can do to fix that - but, if Big9erfan can provide some code, it sounds like he has it figured out.

Let us know - I'm sure other users can benefit from this.

Thanks,
Justin

I ran into GoogleMaps API issue on another site I was working on. The reason for this is that the DIV that the map is shown in is hidden when the page is first rendered. This freaks out the Google Maps API. You need to reinitialize the object or delay the initialization of the object until it is shown.

I'm not entirely sure why an iFrame implementation would work though.

Can you try simply Embedding Google Maps into your site - not using this plugin and see the outcome for me?

Google Maps truly is independent from the theme, and generally anything happening within it's frame is out of hands - that's why I'm curious.

Please do that and shoot me back a message to take a look.

Thanks,
Justin

the actual URL is http://www.thisisspecialk.com/gigs/ if you click any of the orange dates it will bring up the map part.

Okay, please post a link to your site so I can see the issue. And please understand I ask questions to try and determine the cause, not to frustrate you. We're willing to look into issue anyways - even though we don't support 3rd party plugins.

Thanks,
Justin

Well thats real useful....

I've had this plugin working fine myself on over 20 themes with NO issues except yours. I did ask the plugin developer and they said what I wrote in the second post. The map is PART of the plugin, so disabling it the plugin gets rid of all mapping entirely. This is a VERY well used and developed plugin, it is not an issue with it, its your theme unfortunately.

Hey there,

Your first question you would need to reach-out to the Plugin developer. We do not support 3rd party plugins, unfortunately. For #2, I would remove the plugin and then see if your map appears properly.

If that doesn't work, please post a link to your site for our review.

Thanks,
Justin

maps also showing not correct....

When adding a new location, the map shows a grey Loading Map… that doesn’t go away. What’s wrong?
Most likely you have a javascript issue, and most commonly it’s one of three things:
- Your theme has some bad javascript that breaks the rest and prevents Google Maps from loading
- You have a plugin that’s conflicting with ours or breaking javascript like above
- Your theme does not use the wp_head function, and so the required javascript isn’t being loaded.

This is a pretty popular plugin and I cant seem to get it working at all. All of the links created by events manager throw this error

Catchable fatal error: Object of class WP_Error could not be converted to string in /home/specialk/public_html/wp-content/themes/photopharm/functions.php on line 119

that was for link... domain.com/?location=moomba-supperclub

Ideas?
