Hi there,

The theme currently is set to grab the first 25 words from the post and display. You can override this by manually adding text to the excerpt box on the post edit page.

If you don't see the excerpt box, on the post edit page click "screen options" in the upper right-hand corner and check the box for the excerpt. A text box should be added below the content box for you to add your own text.
