Hello!

I would like to have a different template for attachments (i.e. when an image links not to its file but an attachment post), because I want to make changes to the post/event template but it does mess with the attachments. I tried copying single.php, renaming it attachment.php, but alas! evidently too easy to be true.

I don't intend to link images to an attachment template, but some other user may, and I can't restrict it beforehand, so I was wondering if the single.php loop could be modified easily so that it doesn't break (or a another alternative) when renaming it attachment.php (meaning a working loop for attachment php, not for single php)
